  • Message from the Muse

For years I have imagined a website devoted to Inspiration. Before launching a website, we're opening the duirs to a little experiment on typepad's blog site. If you're an artist, dreamer or seeker, stop by and let us know what you think. Help us champion the Muse's cause.
  • Guardian: Cemeteries and their Sentinels
Have you seen our latest project? On a recent trip through the world of imagination, I stumbled across an old, forgotten graveyard. The sculptures, stones, moss, trees and leaves were alive, whispering the wisdom of ages. I hope the haunting beauty of their message shines through this film. We're working on a coffee table book of the guardians who allowed me to photograph them and the magic places they call home.
  • Goblin Design

If you enjoy the world where fantasy meets design, you'll love Silas Toball's Goblin District. Check out the original fairy tale 'The Princess and the Star.'
  • Duirwaigh to Publish Tori Amos 2008 Calendar!

IThe new 2007 Tori Amos charity calendar, benefitting RAINN, is on sale now. We're thrilled to announce the 2008 calendar will be a Duirwaigh project and will be filled entirely with Duirwaigh artists! Ain't that the bee's knees?

Meowwwww!!!!!!

Well, it's been quiet here for quite some time. Strange that so many cats in a bag can keep quiet for months, but they have. And while we can't let all our secret-cats out of the bag at once, we do have a few prize specimens we can bring into the spotlight!

There are many changes afoot here at Duirwaigh, not the least of which is our new collaboration with Amber Lotus!  Amber Lotus is a progressive publishing company that was originally founded by Tibetan Buddhists living in exile. Although they are no longer a non-profit, they have a commitment to sustainable practices and right livelihood. They use 100% recycled paper in their calendar line and donate 1% of their profits to organizations like American Forests and Feed the Children.

For years we've considered Amber Lotus a kindred company, as they are also a small publisher encouraging spirit, magic and beauty in the world, but we could not find the right projects in which to collaborate. However, that all changed in 2007! For the past eight months we've been working with them on a book series, as well as a calendar and greeting card line. All the products will be available on www.DuirwaighGallery.com in the following weeks. Here's a sneak preview of the greeting card line we've developed!

Our first book with Amber Lotus is a reprint of our Knock at the Door. And yup! You guessed it! This second edition features new artwork and a new cover, making our original first edition a collector's item. While we are currently working on three other projects for release early next year, A Knock at the Door will be available this spring and My Wish for You, the next film/book in our inspiration series, is already in production! As soon as it's been solidified and edited, we'll post the film here!

Fairytale_in_repose_by_autumnsgodde Yet another cat out of the bag...meow!...this one's name is Jena DellaGrottaglia Maldonado! Jena recently joined Duirwaigh and is busy creating several projects with us. She has six greeting cards in our new line, a 2009 calendar, three paintings in the new version of Knock at the Door, and is collaborating with Angi on an oracle card deck and book for Amber Lotus entitled: When Woman Had Wings.  Her prints will be released for sale early next month. We'll debut them here, along with an interview with the artist!
